In euros, VAT included, if your Spotify account is registered in the EU, the EEA or Switzerland, and in US dollars everywhere else, the UK included. Once Stripe has billed you in one currency, you stay in it. Checkout asks for a billing address, which Stripe uses for your country's tax.
No. The Free plan needs no card and does not expire.
Sign in with Spotify, open the Subscription page in the app and click Buy on the plan you want. You pay on Stripe Checkout, which has a field for a promotion code. Your plan switches as soon as Stripe confirms the payment.
Yes. Click Switch on the card you want. Stripe shows you the change and asks you to confirm it before anything is charged. If you pay an older price, switching ends it: the new plan is at today's price.
Your plan runs until the end of the period you paid for, then you move to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted: your playlists stay on Spotify, and the ones over the Free quota stop updating until a slot is free again. Only your backups shrink: from the next one, the Free plan keeps one a week for 4 weeks. An older price ends with the cancellation: subscribing again is at today's price.
