To make a house playlist from your Spotify Liked Songs, add two filters in Playlistation: Artist genre on the house labels your library uses (house, tech house, afro house, melodic house, french house), and Tempo between 120 and 130 BPM. Playlistation collects the matching liked tracks into a real Spotify playlist and adds the house you like next. Both filters work on every plan, with a free or a Premium Spotify account.

How it works

  1. Sign in with Spotify and create a playlist. Rename it on its page once you know what it holds.
  2. Add the Artist genre filter, keep Is one of and pick the labels. Type a producer you play often and the box lists their labels, one click each. Then add the Tempo filter and drag the handles to 120 and 130.
  3. Create it. Playlistation fills the playlist from your Liked Songs and keeps it in step as you like more.
The Tempo filter dialog with its slider and the seven preset buttons from Solemn to Fast running
No preset covers 120 to 130 BPM; drag the two handles.

House and electronic music make up the second biggest family of genre playlists on Playlistation, after rock and metal. On 6 October 2026, house was the most picked electronic label, followed by edm, tech house and afro house, then french house and melodic house.

Why the genre alone is not enough

Spotify tags artists, not tracks. A producer tagged house carries that label on their ambient album, their remix of a pop song and their 2012 dubstep phase, and every one of those tracks matches a genre filter. The Tempo filter reads each track's own BPM from Spotify's audio analysis, so it keeps what plays at house speed and drops the rest. Use the two together and you get house by the artist and house by the sound.

Playlistation matches labels exactly: house does not include tech house or deep house. Pick every label you want in one Artist genre filter, and a track matches when its artist carries any of them.

The usual BPM for each style

These are the ranges producers and DJs commonly work in. Treat them as a starting point and adjust after the first build.

StyleLabels to pickTypical BPM
House, deep househouse, deep house, disco house, french house118 to 128
Tech housetech house, bass house124 to 128
Afro and melodic houseafro house, melodic house, organic house118 to 125
Technotechno, melodic techno, minimal techno125 to 140
Hard technohard techno140 to 160
Trancetrance130 to 140
Big room and edmbig room, edm, electro house126 to 130
Drum and bassdrum and bass170 to 180

Spotify's estimate sometimes lands on half or double the beat you hear. Drum and bass at 174 can be listed at 87, and dubstep at 140 often shows as 70. If a track you expected is missing, expand it in the playlist's track list: the Tempo line shows the value the filter read (the playlist page). For a style that lands at half speed, add a second Tempo filter on the half range and switch the pill between the two to OR (combining filters).

Warm-up and peak, from the same library

The Energy filter splits a house library by intensity, which is how a set is built:

PlaylistFilters
Warm-upThe track artist is tagged with one of house, deep house, melodic house, The track BPM is between 118 and 124, and The track energy is between 40% and 70%
Peak timeThe track artist is tagged with one of tech house, techno, The track BPM is between 126 and 132, and The track energy is at least 80%
Fresh houseThe track artist is tagged with one of house, tech house, afro house, and Liked date: In the last 30 days
Small producersThe track artist is tagged with one of house, tech house, and The track artist has at most 100K followers

Fresh house lets tracks go after 30 days, so it always holds your latest finds. Small producers uses Artist followers to keep the names you found early. Danceability, which scores how steady the beat is, helps when breaks and long intros get in the way.

Why the playlist stays up to date

Playlistation stores the filters as a rule and runs them again at every update: once a day on the Free plan, every hour on Plus, in under 30 minutes on Pro. Like a track during the week and it is in the playlist before the weekend. Unlike it and it leaves. See how syncing works.

What it cannot do

  • Spotify analyses most tracks, not all. A track with no analysis has no tempo and no energy, so it never matches those filters. New and very small releases are the usual gap.
  • It has no key and no mixing tool. The playlist is a Spotify playlist, played in Spotify. Playlistation does not detect key, beatmatch or export to DJ software.
  • A producer's labels cover every record. Tempo and Energy separate a producer's styles; the genre filter cannot.
  • It reads only your Liked Songs. A DJ mix or a label playlist you follow stays out until you like its tracks.

Questions about Spotify house playlists

How do I make a house playlist from my Spotify Liked Songs?

Create a playlist in Playlistation, add the Artist genre filter with the house labels your library uses, then a Tempo filter between 120 and 130 BPM. Playlistation collects the matching liked tracks into a real Spotify playlist. It updates itself afterwards, so the house you like next joins it on its own.

What BPM is house music?

House usually sits between 118 and 128 BPM, tech house between 124 and 128, and techno from 125 up to 140, with hard techno faster still. In Playlistation, set the Tempo filter's handles to the range you play, then expand a few tracks in the playlist to check the BPM Spotify reports for them.

Why are slow or non-house tracks in my house playlist?

Spotify tags producers, not tracks, so every song by an artist tagged house matches the genre filter, including their downtempo or pop work. Add a Tempo filter around 120 to 130 BPM and an Energy floor, and those tracks drop out without you removing anything by hand.

Can it sort my house tracks by key for mixing?

No. Playlistation reads tempo, energy, danceability and the other audio scores Spotify provides, but it does not detect musical key and it does not export to DJ software. It builds Spotify playlists, so it suits listening and preparing a set by ear.

Is it free?

Yes. Artist genre, Tempo and every other filter work on every plan. The Free plan allows five playlists, reads your 1,000 most recent likes and updates once a day; Plus and Pro read more of your library and update more often. See plans and billing.
